Watchamacallit?

You know that thing when you see someone cute and he smiles and your heart kind of goes like warm butter sliding down hot toast? Well that's what it's like when I see a store. Only it's better.

Sunday, December 28, 2008:
And so the saying goes (in my book that is!), "Tis better to RECEIVE, than to GIVE." LOL!

Yes, as mentioned from the entry before this, here are some of the pressies I got:

GIFT CARDS!!!
The VS came from Kitisky, Forever 21 was from Christian, the Lord & Taylor one was from Mommy and the Barnes & Noble card was from Blanche.

I already bought some tops from Forever (thanks, Babe!) and my gift card now only has 7 bucks! Haha! I'm thinking of buying a fedora hat or a beanie with it but I don't know if I could pull the look off because just like Adam Sandler, I have an egg-shaped head (only smaller!). Heehee! =))

For the Vickie's Secret card, I bought a Pink blue mini varsity water jug that I could use for school so that I don't have to buy bottled water anymore. Heehee! It's really cute, too bad I don't have a picture with me right now and since it's in the fridge at the moment, I'll just post one some other time. I'm planning on using the remaining credits to buy a bra! Haha! Like maybe a sexy fire red one or one with animal prints on it 'cause I'm into those kind of prints at the moment. Heehee. We'll see, we'll see. =P

Hmm, I'm still thinking about what I'm going to buy with my L&T card, but it's probably going to be the Michael Kors cropped jacket because I've always wanted those! It's sooo GG! Haha! Plus it's on sale now so, yey me! =))

And lastly, the Barnes and Noble card... I still haven't used it as well but I'm thinking of buying The Big Bang Theory Season 1 DVD with it. I loooooove Sheldon!! Haha! It's one of my fave sitcoms now. Woohoo!! But seriously, "fave" is an understatement-- listen, since it's being aired at the same time and day as GG, I'm choosing to watch TBBT first and then just look out for the GG episodes on the net. Oh no I didn't, right? Haha! But yes, that is how much I loooove Sheldon!! =))
Anyway, back to the DVD, last time I checked it was on sale too.. less than 30 bucks, which is just perfect! It was a toss up between 3 things actually, the Gossip Girl Season 1 DVD, this...

[Screenshot_1.xxlarge.jpg]

... GG Soundtrack and TBBT Season 1 DVD. I, for sure, couldn't get the GG DVD because it's freakin' expensive!!! $70 bucks, man! O_o And I thought buying the soundtrack would be a waste of good money too since I could always DL the songs from Limewire so by process of elimination, and because it costs less, TBBT DVD wins! Yey, Sheldon!!! =*

Winter wear!
Scarf w/matching gloves from Mom, green cardigan with white sleeveless cotton top from Chel and grey turtleneck from Tito Nilo.

My very first Uglydoll doll!! Yey!
One of the freebies from my Mastercard's bonus points! Heehee! =))

Uglydoll calendar with stickers and a letter-- not that one, proxy lang yan 'cause I couldn't find the original one! ='((-- and camo mini skirt from Christian.

Yey! Uglydoll item again and 'cause I've always wanted to own something camo printed!!! Boohoo, 'cause I lost the letter! =(( Sayang talaga!!! First time pa naman niya ko binigyan ng ganun! =((

My 2009 planner/diary/organizer/journal from Mom!
Eyelove that it's really big and spacy! Heehee! I'm already excited as to what I'm going to be writing on it!!! =))

Different colored Post-it's from Kuya Neal!
To go with my brand new planner, ofcourse! =P

A years' worth of contacts from Mom, again! Haha! First time disposable lens' user here! =))

My fave VS scent from Potpot! =))
Oh, and for everyone who knows her, she already gave birth... to the sweetest, most cutest baby, Logan Greggory!!!! =)) I'll most def post some pics when I visit them again! Love you, Pot! =*

Wrappers!!!
To be recycled for next year!! Haha!! Kuripot? No! Think green, people!!! =P LOL!

Animal print kikay kit from Mommy! Yey!
I also bought new make-ups for myself- Great Lash Mascara, Mineral Blush and a dark brown eyeliner. Heehee! I am loooohoooving the blush and mascara!! Ohyeas! =))

And for my monthly dose of chikka's, I bought myself some 'zines.
Haha! Product placement yung D & G box!!! LOL! It's actually supposed to be MY gift for my Mom, but SHE ended up paying for it... So dahil dun, I gave her nalang a DVD of one of her fave movies, Legends of the Fall. Ayun! =))

Oh, I forgot... I also got some moolah from my Mom- which unfortunately are out of my wallet already because I needed to buy gifts for others as well! Hmp! Sadly, Santa didn't give me what I wanted this year! I wished for mint green colored Ugg boots after I saw an episode of Two and a half Men where Kandi, Alan's girlfriend, was wearing one. Huhu. I guess I haven't been very nice this year. Oh well.

And there you have it. I know it's not as madami or as mabongga as what you guys received but I'm happy with this years' loot anyways! Che! Heehee! =))

Kbye! =*

"Gising na!"
"5 minutes pa..."
"Ano bang inaantay mo, pasko? Eh pasko na nga eh!"
=))

Happy Holidays, everyone! Sorry it took me quite a while to update this thing. Hmm, and since we're at it, first let me show you some of the things I had been doing while I was on this semi-hiatus. Just click on the images for a larger view. =*

Yes, Casino again! This time at Foxwoods, Connecticut. It was my first time there, but unlike my first time at Atlantic City, "beginner's luck" didn't bless me... I even lost 20 bucks. Boohoo! Could've bought a cute shirt from Forever 21 with that! Hmp! =P

On the upside, we ate at Fuddruckers! It was my first time to eat there too, and boy was it good! Yum!!! I shared super cheeeeeesy fries and a burger with Kitisky and while his side had zilch veggies, I filled mine with onions, lettuces and tomatoes! Yummmy!!! The parentals bought fish cakes and Ceasar salad (my fave kind of salad, ever!!!), and I had some of it also! Man, did I get full!!! O_o

We were supposed to stop by Tangers, one of the biggest shopping outlets, on the way home, but because of the heavy traffic, we got late so we didn't have time anymore. Sayangggg, shopping!!!

Woohoo! Fun, fun day with the loves of my life... my family! =D

It wasn't my first time at the Statue (remember, I went just a few months ago with Joseph?), but it was my first time to ride the Staten Island ferry- it's free pala. Heehee! After that we went at South SeaPort (remember, where NeYo had his free concert a few months ago!!!) to see Brooklyn Bridge and then after grabbing some grubs from BK, we went to Chinatown to buy some more pasalubongs for the relatives back home.

Kuya Neal called us and said he wanted to meet up with us at Grand Central and since it was still a bit early, we decided to go! Heehee!

Grand Central was literally swimming with people in black.. look at Kitisky standing out with his Where's Wally-ish outfit from the crowd. LOL! They also have a Christmas "show" every hour for tourists. The effects are sooo nice, too bad I wasn't able to take a video 'cause my phone's memory was running low at that time.

Check out Blanche and me... fume-feeling S & B-- not Slut and Bitch, silly! Haha! Serena and Blair, no! =P Check out the Twilight hater and the Twilight lover as well! Haha!

Does this remind you of something?:Spotted! Heehee!! =P
(See, I told you we were!)

The caption says it all! This was the day before they left. Huhu! But hey, no worries, they'll be back probably on the mid of next year! Woohoo! =))

Aaaand, just incase you were wondering why there are a lot of emo's (or punks, or scenesters) here in America, here's your answer. Haha!

Well, I dunno 'bout the others but snow/winter and dead trees/leaves make me sad. =P Basta!!! I have been experiencing MY depression signs (i.e. crying myself to sleep, reminiscing about past relationships and listening to break-up songs) for a week now and I don't even know what triggered it! Lalalala!! Hay! I have a feeling this blog is gonna be filled up with emo stuff once again so you better watch out! Haha!! I'm really praying hard against it. Kaya yun! I'm just warning you out there! I hope you bear with me nalang if it happens! =P

Anyway, this has been pretty much a photo blog na pala. I'm thinking of posting some more pics-- those of what I got for this years' Christmas on my next entry which I'll probably do later. Yey for presents! Okay, see you realllll soon! =))

If Paris' is "That's hot!", well mine is...

"I KNOW, (right)!"

This was taken a few days ago when we went inside the biiiiig M&M store in Manhattan. I was expecting for a blue because it's my favorite M&M color to eat but I guess the computer knew better. Everyone I know/talk to KNOWS that. LOLOLOL!!! My cousins even make fun of me because of my "catch" phrase. Heehee!

Anyway, I'll be back to regular blogging once my finals' ends- and that's this coming Saturday. After that, woohoo, Christmas vacation baby! And I hope I start it by going to Mary's party at Atlantic City this weekend. =) Yey! Okay, back to books again! Bye! =*

Ode.

The thing about me is I never let a good book down (a good book in my taste, anyway).

My "passion", if you could call it that, for reading started when I was in first grade, I think. After school, my Dad(+ ♥) would pick me up and we would either get into a McD's drive-thru and go home, or he would drop me off my Mom's office and get back to his workplace. On occasions when we do the latter, my Mom and I would often go to Glorietta, my favorite Ayala mall ever.
As far as I can remember, we would just stroll around the malls- quite often at Landmark and Rustan's because she loooves looking at shoes, or we would do the groceries.
After that, we would meet up with my Dad and we'd have dinner at either Le Coeur de France or French Baker (I love their brownies and Chicken ala King.. Hmmmm!) or Wendy's (Mommy's a sucker for the do-it-yourself salad).

We would pass by National Bookstore on the way to our usual parking spot so usually we go inside first and my Mom would browse for her favorite novels and I would pester my Dad into buying me stickers and stationaries. Haha! =))

Anyway, I don't exactly remember how it happened but on one of our usual mall-strolling days, I passed by a row of Sweet Valley books by Francine Pascal. The book covers appealed to me and because I wanted to be like a grown up lady buying a book like Mommy does, I asked them to get one for me.

My first SV book, No boys allowed, allowed me to peek inside the Wakefield twins' life. I was hooked simply because they were my age and so I felt like I could "relate" to them! Haha! I specifically liked Jessica and Lila the most because they were the malandi ones! Haha! The books about them were the ones I liked better because it revolved on boys and crushes... Elizabeth-themed books were more on her style for being a tomboy and her geeky school stuff so I found it a bit blahhh. Haha!
(See bata palang ako, I liked Blair Waldorf-esque personalities na! I hate mga feeling goody-goody eh! Nasa loob naman kasi yung kulo! *coughSERENAcough* Haha! Unlike Blair and Jess: What you see, is what you get diba?)
I also liked Steven, their brother. He's so cute and funny!!! I think he might even be the first fictional guy I had a crush on.

As they say, the rest is history. If you look at my room in the Philippines, just beside the door, you'd find my library- a big white shelf full of books. I started my collection with Sweet Valley Kids, which later on turned to Twins.. then the Unicorn club, then Junior High and lastly, University.
(AAAH!!! Just writing about them makes me miss them even more!!!
Makes me think back on my LisaFrankloving-PollyPocketplaying-SpiceGirls/BSBaddict-TenTwenty/ChineseJackstone days.
Hayy, youth! Where art thou? LOL! )

(I also remember the SV series being shown in the Philippines. They dubbed it in Tagalog, which I thought was weird. Haha! Si Jessica, nagtatagalog? Imagine that! =P)

During my SV phase, I was also venturing out to other reads... I enjoyed Archie comics (LOL Jughead! Go Veronica!!!); Goosebumps; Nancy Drew; The Babysitters Club; Love Story paperbacks (It was a collection of different stories from different authors-- One of my good ol' favorites too!); Simon Romantic Comedies; Mates, Dates and ___ by Cathy Hopkins; Gossip Girl series (I prefer the TV series better though: this might be the only time I preferred something motion-wise over something book-wise.); maybe almost all of Nicholas Sparks' novels (AAH!! FAVEEE!!!); Series of Unfortunate Events, Bob Ong books AND OFCOURSE, THE HARRY POTTER SERIES!!!

When I got more "mature"(LOL, mature na to' for my taste!), I started to read less Chic Lit's! I tried re-reading the stuff we had tackled before in CSA like The Diary of Anne Frank, which we had in 7th grade; The Little Prince which we read in 4th year and Tuesdays with Morrie, which we also read in Senior year. Oh, and I also read Memoirs of a Geisha, The Da Vinci Code- only because my ex-"friend" was begging me to read it so we could discuss it daw and I also tried reading some of my Mom's Danielle Steele/Sydney Sheldon books.

I started getting into the Twilight series because I got so curious on who this Edward guy is. On why everyone is talking about him. Truthfully, I liked the concept of how Edward is and he and Bella's triangle with Jacob but the way the story was presented was just so-so for me.
Comme ci, comme ça, kungbaga.
Now don't get me wrong, I think Meyer IS good (there were plenty of Twi quotes/phrases that totally struck me!), it's just her style of writing that I don't like. It's like reading something Shakespeare-an kasi. Like, why go on writing paragraphs and pages when all you wanted to say was Bella's hurting during her pregnancy? Diba? Haha! Di naman halatang I hated Breaking Dawn nyan?

(And I know it's a FICTIONAL book but do you really believe that a vampire can impregnate someone? Diba they don't have blood? Eh as far as I hate remembering, Anatomy and Physiology taught me that we- or, I mean, guys, need blood to rush through their ehems for them to get a hard on? O, how can they get an erection when they don't have blood? Hmm. O, I'm just sharing... no need for wild comments ah! Haha!)

One of the many perks of moving here is being able to read books without actually spending your moolah on it as public libraries are always around the corner. I started getting into Romance/Chic Lit again after reading the TwiSaga. I guess you really always come back to your first love, huh?
I just finished reading P.S. I Love You a couple of moths ago. I've seen the movie before I read the book which was better in a way because the book is oh-so much betterER (as always!). Haha. =P

And for the finale, I want to present to you my MOST FAVORITE AUTHOR OF ALL TIME...
.
.
.
.
.

SOPHIE KINSELLA.

Creator of some of my most favorite fictional characters like Rebecca Bloomwood-Brandon (The Shopaholic series); Samantha Sweeting (Undomestic Goddess); Emma Corrigan (Can You Keep a Secret) and Lexi Smart (Remember Me? --her newest one!).

I've never heard or seen any book review about The Confessions of a Shopaholic before I bought it when I was in Senior year high school. I remember it as it was the day I bought my Mrs. Timberlake bag from People are People because it was the day before I left the Philippines when I was just visiting my Mom here.
I wasn't really supposed to buy a book the day I bought it too. Again, it was the packaging that caught my attention... the cover was pretty, the title was catchy and it was filled with pink so I said, what the hey, I'll get it anyway.
It turned out to be a nice purchase afterall as I enjoyed it and it helped me get through the gruelling 16-hour flight together with F.R.I.E.N.D.S. episodes and the random movies they were showing on the airplane screen.

I love Sophie because her works are full of personality, wit, spunk and style. I love how I could never get to guess how the story would end which makes me glued to it even more. I most especially love the Brit-brit (that's British, not Britney, FYI!) humor she never fails to bring to all her books.

The thing I mostly admire about her is that she gives each one of her characters with dynamic and unique qualities:
Becky, my #1 fave of all, may be an airhead and a ditz but you'll love her for that.
Sam, on the other hand, is the more gutsy, tougher one.
Emma is a chatterbox but she's surely full of optimism.
Lastly, Lexi, the newest addition to the group, is the most-selfless, most charming one. She's only an inch closer to getting tied with Becky as my favorite!
What I like the most about these girls is that as kikay and as babaw as they may be, once they put their mind to something, they save everyone and everything falls perfectly into place-- and they manage to get the hottest guys while they're at it! Haha! =P

I hope Kinsella makes more books! I mean she's still so young (and so pretty!), so I hope she doesn't stop! Please, Sophie!! Please make many-- as many as the weird Stephen King novels so it will last me for a lifetime!!! I will never get tired of your trademark antics, I promise!!! So pleaseee!!! =))

They'll also be releasing the movie adaptation of The Confessions of a Shopaholic on the early part of 2009 but after re-re-re-re-re-re-watching the trailer, I don't think I'll like it very much.

Why?
First of all, the setting. As much as I love you, NY, Becky is still supposed to be in London!!! She's supposed to be a full-fledged English woman which only comes to Manhattan to visit!!!! She's supposed to have a bloody English accent!!!

She's also supposed to be brunette, right? Suze is the blond one!

Now for Isla. She looks good alright, but she isn't the quirky, fun, shopaholic Becky I imagined!! Hmm, so I hope she really steps up.

And the clothes. Okay, the clothes are cute too, but I imagined more designer, more higher branded brands. Haha. Hay.

And don't even get me started on the actor playing Luke!! Hay talaga! Flooop!! Haha! =P
Oh well.

But there were some things I really liked too like the one where she was pretending she knew Finnish. Haha!! LOLOLOLOL!! That was one of my fave scenes in the book too! And the one where she tries to get her credit card in the freezer... and the one where she was strutting on the streets and she goes through her wardrobe pieces in her mind. Eyelove.

Um, overall, I still can't wait for it! If it fails, I'll be really sad- mostly for Kinsella. Hmm. =(

Valkyrie.

Aside from subway rats and manyak guys, one of the things that irritate me most are English Nazis.

A few days ago, there was a discussion in Multiply about Gossip Girl's latest episode, "Oh brother, where Bart thou" (which I think is GG's best ep yet, and Chuck is oh-so great/dreamy-- but that's not the topic here!). The post was from a member, who I'll hide under the alias, Manual. So, here it goes...
Manual asked us (the other members) what we though of the said episode, without biases towards the actors, because she thought it wasn't "all that." One of the members who replied, let's call her "Tuesday", stated her opinion- she said she liked it because blah, blah, blah, blah. Manual then replies to her comment, counteracts and gives the reasons why she didn't like it that much. The discussion was going great until Manual decides to be a mighty know-it-all and puts a P.S. at the end of her message saying (directly copy-pasted),

"You have a typo. You said "then again, as an ACTOR, he's acting on the last ep is good or the best among previous episodes. its HIS acting not HE'S acting."

Which Tuesday replies with a, "Sorry for the typo, TAO LANG PO.", and Manual says, "I'm sorry. I'm OC when it comes to speeeeeelling. =))."

Pfft. That really annoyed me!!! I mean, what does Tuesday's grammar have to do with the topic? If her intentions were really for the good, like to help Tuesday understand and know her mistake, she should have just PM-ed her. Pero okay Ms. Manual, since gusto mo pala ng ganunan and since we're being all technical here narin naman, I too, would like to point out your errors...

1. IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE:
"You have a typo. You said(,) "then again, as an ACTOR, he's acting on the last ep is good or the best among previous episodes.(")(.) i(I)t(')s HIS acting not HE'S acting."
2. When you said you were OC when it came to spelling... Hmm. Iha, what you pointed out was not a spelling mistake but an error in GRAMMAR USAGE.
3. WHAT IS "=))" and "speeeeeelling" ??? Diba Ms. Smarty pants ka? So you should know that a happy face and quintuple E's are not part of writing a correct sentence structure.

Sorry, perfectionist ka kamo diba? Eh ano tong mga mali mo?

Hay! Nakakagigil lang kasi. Yung mga taong ganyan. Bakit kailangan nilang gawin yun? "Where you at?").

Aww, poor you.

There you go! If I missed out anythings or if you thinked these entry has erorrs to, then please, buy all means, BRING IT ON pOwHzZZZz.
